Merging two of the same contacts together

From time to time, you will notice that the same person has signed up to your list using more than one email address.  Contacts are created based on email address and will never create two contacts using the same email.

But you will see more than one contact for someone if they signed up using more than one email.  Please watch the video below to learn how to fix this issue and merge the contacts together.

 

How to Merge Duplicate Contacts: A Step-by-Step Guide

Steps:

  1. Identify the Duplicate Contacts:

    • Search for the duplicate contact's name.

    • You can also use filtering options if available (e.g., email address) to find specific duplicates.

  2. Select the Contacts to Merge:

    • Click on the checkbox next to each duplicate contact you want to merge.

  3. Initiate the Merge Process:

    • Look for a "Merge" or "Combine" button. It might be available on the contact list page or when you select the contacts.

  4. Choose the Primary Contact Information:

    • A window will display information from both contacts.

    • Choose the information you want to keep for the merged contact:

      • Email address (usually the one you want to keep)

      • Phone number (choose the one with a number, or keep both if they differ)

      • Other details (tags, offers, etc.) are automatically merged.

  5. Confirm the Merge:

    • Review the information you selected.

    • Click "Confirm" or a similar button to finalize the merge.

Verification:

  • After merging, go back to your contact list.

  • You should only see one contact with the chosen email address, containing the merged information.
