How Often to Check

• It's recommended to check for updates at least once a week.

• You likely visit your website often anyway, so checking for updates shouldn't be a burden.

Why Updates Are Important

• Outdated plugins can make your website vulnerable to hackers and bots.

Checking for Updates

1. Look for the update notification in the top corner of your WordPress dashboard.

2. Alternatively, go to Plugins > Installed Plugins.

Updating Plugins

1. Do not update all plugins at once. Update a maximum of two plugins at a time.

2. Click on the "Update Now" link for the plugin you want to update.

3. Wait for the update to finish before updating another plugin.

Backing Up Your Website

• It's crucial to back up your website before updating major components like your theme or WordPress core.

• If you don't use Funnel Breezy, consider using a plugin like UpdraftPlus to schedule regular backups.

• Make sure your hosting provider offers regular backups as well.

Having a Local Backup

• In addition to your hosting provider's backups, consider keeping a local backup on your computer (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox).

• This allows you to restore your website quickly if your hosting provider experiences problems.

After Updating

• Once all plugins are updated, the update notification in the dashboard will disappear.
